Anyone Need a Plumber?

Sing With Me!

Harrison has quickly discovered a fondness for hearing his own voice. Great...just what I was hoping for, a child that likes to hear himself make noise. I am hoping this is a characteristic of all small children. It didn't take him long at all to figure out what a microphone does. When I say not long at all, I mean, I did it once and then he did it.

Back Home with My Boys

What a long week. I missed both Adam and Harrison tremendously. Without a doubt, they had a blast without me. Harrison is doing all sorts of new things. He is no longer stuck when he pulls himself up. He has figured out how to get out of the standing position and is even doing a little creeping around furniture. Apparently, Adam also let him play with the remote control. He played with it so much, that it no longer works. Adam knows how I feel about letting him play with it, so clearly, he just waited until I was out of town to let him play with it. Now, Harrison picks up the broken remote control and points it towards the TV...I'm really not sure how I feel about this. Actually, I am sure. I hate the idea of him playing with a remote and control and then knowing that it works with a TV. Harrison has also gotten really into giving kisses. He gave me a big smacker before I left on Monday morning and I thought about it the whole week. This morning, I caught him giving his pony numerous kisses. As you can see, they are crazy, open-mouth kisses.

Ole Blue Eyes

I know that I have posted a lot in the past couple of days, but I am about to go out of town for a week for work. Harrison is getting harder and harder to leave. While I love my job, it is getting much harder to say bye to him. As I was gathering things together today, Harrison kept staring at me with those blue eyes. I really wanted to put him in my suitcase and take him with me. I do enjoy getting to go out of town and I know Adam really enjoys getting to spend some QT with Harrison that he probably wouldn't do if I stayed home all of the time. I am going to ask Adam to take pictures of Harrison when I am gone, but I'm not really counting on it.

Feeling Better...

I realize these last two pictures look similar. I couldn't decide which was cuter.

I'm not sure if everyone could tell, but in the last couple of posts, Harrison hasn't looked like his normal self. He had been battling a bug or virus of some sort for over a week. I was out of town for a couple of days and Adam took him to the doctor to get some medicine. I'm not sure if the antibiotics have helped or the virus has just run its course, but he is definitely feeling better. He still has a little bit of congestion, but that's no big deal. I'm sure most of you couldn't care less about Harrison's little sickness, but I can't help but celebrating him getting better. It is hard when you can't give them any medicine to treat the symptoms. It makes you feel useless as a parent. I told Adam that I've felt like a veterinarian the past week or so, trying to guess what is wrong with my patient (Harrison) since he cannot communicate with me. I'm sure pediatricians would never compare themselves to veterinarians. Either way, that's how I felt. On that subject though, I wonder if babies grow into their feet like puppies grow into their paws. You know when you have a puppy with big paws, everyone says "wow, that's going to be a big dog!" Well, Harrison has huge feet. I'm wondering if that means he is going to be a big boy?

Just the past couple of days Harrison has found that his ability to stand-up gets him to precarious situations. Actually, I'm not confident that he has realized this, but I certainly have. Just yesterday, he figured out how to pull the camera (for the video monitor) off of the wall by his crib. I can't begin to describe how alarming it is to look at the monitor, thinking your are going to see your son sleeping, instead you get an up close shot of the inside of his mouth. It is too weird. Also, he finds himself standing (holding onto crib, table, etc) and unable to sit. I think he hasn't learned to sit down, so when he gets tired of standing, he sort of starts to panic. Anyway, that is what is going on with Harrison this last day of January.

Domestic Harrison Part 2

Harrison loves to take his bib and wipe the floor. I am wondering if he is sending me a hint that it is time to sweep and mop...

Hiding Spot

Harrison has discovered that he loves to play with his high-chair. He likes to get under it and roll it around on the floor. And yes, he has rolled over his fingers a couple of times and screamed appropriately. But he soon forgets and returns to his fun.
