It's official, Harrison has his first virus. You know the doctor told me that I would know something was wrong when Harrison has a big change in demeanor...fussy, won't settle, super tired, etc. Well, Adam and I noticed that he was acting a bit different the past couple of days. He would be playing and then all of the sudden, he would break out in a cry that would make you think his hand had been severed. Thankfully, that was never the case; he would just vomit afterwards. I definitely would prefer the latter of the two. I also knew that cry was a "something pains me" cry. Unfortunately, I have usually been the one accidentally inflicting pain upon him (twice), so I recognize that cry. As an aside, I have read and been told that I would be able to differentiate cries and I never thought I would be able to in a baby. I can tell when a toddler is crying in public if it is fake, but I wasn't sure about baby cries. Besides, he doesn't have the capacity for fake cries, yet...I don't think. Anyway, I digress. The kicker with Harrison was yesterday when I was trying to feed him, I put the bottle in his mouth, and he kept on spitting it out like it was a sour pickle. That was very unlike him. Normally, he is so excited to get to eat, he is beside himself. I knew something was wrong. I took him to the doctor this morning and he told me that he definitely has a little virus and that it could stick around for 3 weeks! What?! I assumed after that, he would offer some medication to turn the potential 3 weeks into 3 days. No such luck. Harrison will just have to weather this storm. The doctor said that if he wasn't gaining weight, then there might be another course of action. But since Harrison weighed in at 16 lbs, weight gaining isn't an issue. He still seems pretty happy. In fact, I have attached a video that I just shot of him trying to figure out his jumpster. So, he's okay. For now, I just have to monitor him...stools, sleeping, eating, etc. You know, those important things that I have been "monitoring" for more than 3 months now. We leave tomorrow for Harrison's 2nd plane trip. Hopefully his little virus won't make this trip to difficult.

those little bugs stink....and they do stick around. usually right after I thought that Jack was getting over it- out it came again....our doctor said the same thing about it hanging out longer in babies. the sad thing is having to watch them be sick and not being able to tell you how they feel. he better feel better so i can hold him on sunday!!! call me to tell me where yall will be!! love you and CAN"T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!
