I cannot believe that Harrison is five months old. It is absolutely ridiculous that time is flying like this. He is doing a great job with his solid foods, only it appears that he has a small allergy that we are trying to identify. I have come to the conclusion that it is time for me to buy a high-chair. I really don't want to do it, because everyone said that it would be really far down the road before I would have to get one. I just can't believe that I have already arrived at "really far down the road." He is outgrowing his bumbo seat, so I am going to have to break down and buy one soon. I am open to suggestions as to what I should look for in a high-chair. Here is what I have heard so far from different people: 1. make sure that it has a removable tray insert that can be put in the dishwasher (some are actually coming with two of these now). 2. make sure that the vinyl or whatever the seat is made out of can come clean with a wet cloth. So that's my current criteria. Unfortunately, no one has told me, to make sure it is cute. However, that is one of my factors in deciding. Again, I really can't believe Harrison is old enough to even sit in a high-chair. I have been told by 6 months, he can start taking juice from a cup. I don't even think that is possible at this point. Anyway, here are some pictures of him eating and playing from the other day. One of these pictures is of his modified sitting position. He can sit up unassisted now, but he has to use his hands. And in this picture, he is on the verge of falling over. It was the best I could capture.

So fun! I can't believe that he is that old already. As far as high chairs- I agree with the two criteria but also may I suggest one that attaches to the table and is portable so that you can take it to restaurants, vacations, friends etc. We have an Inglesina one that I highly recommend. It makes a big difference when they start eating bigger people food and they can literally sit at the table with you. Plus it doesnt take up NEAR as much room! Just a thought!
His toes are so cute in the 2nd picture. On one foot, his toes are outstretched; on the other, his toes are curled under. That's hard to do!!!
I love the high chair that I have. It is not bulky; it's easy to clean; it wasn't expensive; it's lightweight; and Ryan and Christopher both loved it! Oh, and it's easy to use.
Mandy...make sure you get a cute high chair. I mean, that's all that really matters.
